The brewery was established in 1872 by Georg Schneider I and his child Georg Schneider II, after they gained the Weisses Brauhaus in Munich, the foremost seasoned Weissbier brewery within the city. In 1927 the proprietors, under Georg Schneider IV, extended their brewing activities into Kelheim and Straubing. After the distilleries in Munich were pulverized in 1944 by airborne barrage by the Allies of war II, the entire creation was migrated to Kelheim.
